The 2nd CALL FOR PAPERS (I-SPAN'99) 1999 International Symposium on Parallel Architectures, Algorithms and Networks June 23-25, 1999, Esplanade Hotel Fremantle, Western Australia (near Perth, Australia) SCOPE OF SYMPOSIUM: The International Symposium on Parallel Architectures, Algorithms, and Networks (I-SPAN) is a forum for scientists, engineers, and practitioners throughout the world to exchange ideas and research results related to the design, use, analysis, and application of parallel architectures, algorithms, networks, and internet technology. The first three symposia were held in Kanazawa, Japan, on December 14-16, 1994, in Beijing, China, on June 12-14, 1996, and in Taipei, Taiwan on December 18-20, 1997. The fourth symposium, I-SPAN '99, will be held in Perth, Australia, June 23-25, 1999. I-SPAN'99 will include keynote addresses, invited/contributed papers, workshops and presentations by designers of on-going projects on high performance computing and communication systems. Relevant topics include (but are not limited to) the following: * Parallel Architectures * Parallel Algorithms * Massively Parallel Processing Systems * Interconnection Networks * Mapping and Scheduling * Network Routing and Communication Algorithms * Parallel and Network Computing * Optical Interconnections and Computing * Fault Tolerance Issues and Systems * VLSI Network Design * Telecommunication Network Design and Optimization * Wireless and Mobile Interconnection and Networks * ATM Architecture and Networks * Intelligent Networks * Multimedia Networking * Internet Technology and Applications SUBMISSION GUIDELINES: Please submit your complete paper to the Program Committee Vice-Chair whose track is most relevant to your paper's subject. The paper should not exceed 20 double-spaced pages of text using 12 point size type on 8.5 x 11 inch pages. Electronic submissions are encouraged and should be sent to the email address of the Vice Chair. Electronic submissions must be in the form of a readable postscript file containing the following header information in ASCII form: title, author name(s), abstract, postal address, e-mail address, and telephone and fax numbers. The header (in ASCII) should be followed by the postscript version of the complete manuscript (including title, author's name, affiliation, and abstract). Authors should submit a correct PostScript (level 2) file of their paper to be considered and make sure that the PostScript file will print on a PostScript printer that uses 8.5 x 11 inch size (letter size) paper. Hard copy submissions are also permitted. Send four copies of the manuscript to the appropriate PC Vice-Chair. The results presented in the paper must be unpublished and not submitted for publication elsewhere, including the proceedings of other conferences or workshops. One author of each accepted paper will be expected to present the paper at the conference. Proceedings will be published by the IEEE Computer Society Press.
